Has anyone heard of this series of books besides me?

The series is called "The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod". It is about a boy that was born half-vampire and struggles with his life as it continues to suck (no pun intended). His parents died in a fire when he was younger and his school life is downright miserable, apart from his best friend and coolest guy in school, Harry. The girl he likes doesn't even know he exists. But his life gets even more crazier as his teacher suddenly disappears and is replaced by a substitute teacher named Mr. Otis, who looks a lot like Vlad (and shares his eating habits a.k.a blood). After much investigation, Vlad finds out that Mr. Otis is his uncle. Suddenly, Vlad is on the run from the vampire society of Elysia because he was never supposed to exist. Vlad also finds out that he is the only one of his kind, a half vampire. This in turn leads him to discover that there is a prophecy that names him the Pravus, and that he will lead the vampires to enslave the human race. Overall it is a very good series, but I am the only one who knows about it in my school. Please let me know if you have heard of it.
