How many Red Indians live in the US, and should they declare independence?

I know that there where millions in the past, but, due to macres, their number decreased at some point to less then a million. How "humane"!!! I ask that because when I asked the same question about Mexicans (in Texas, California and other Mexican land occupied by the US), and compared it to Kosovo Metohija, one "intelectual heroic" anonymus answered something about some "descendants" of the Pre Christian Era Illyrians, who live there (I don't think anyone can be certain if those Illyrians really have descendant, if Serbs are not descendants of some Illyrians etc.). Well, the fact is that Albanians were not extincted in KOSMET as were Red Indians in the US, "where they"? And does the US has the right to exist on the land of the very same people they carried out genocide against? In fact, I think the US has that right. But, if at the same time it destroyes other people, then this right should be questioned.
