How to stop plucking my hair?

i've got a serious addiction to picking at my beard and goatee and anything pretty much that has hair on it. It usually happens when I'm bored, or reading a boring textbook. It sometimes gets to the point that it is so distracting that i can't get through a text i'm supposed to read. Each hair i pull out, i look at and put it down on the table. HELP! i miss my full luscious beard haha
